About Patti Johnson,
Personal Trainer

My name is Patti Johnson, and I founded Fitness Personalized to help others feel better about themselves, enjoy the way they look, and just generally enjoy life more.

After our fourth child started elementary school, my husband Paul and I decided it was time to join a gym. After working past the initial unfamiliarity (and discomfort, to be honest!), I really began to look forward to the workouts and seeing familiar faces at the gym in nearby Buford GA.

My motivation was to stay fit and live to see my kids and grandkids grow up. My own mother died at 50 of a heart attack. I decided I was going to learn what it takes to stay healthy. It's really what I take away from the gym that is so important to me. It gives me the energy, agility, and endurance to participate in the other activities I enjoy.

My favorite activity is tennis. When our family moved to Georgia back in the '90s, I wasn't sure which end of a tennis racket to pick up. Since then, I have not only learned the game, but jumped in and captained a couple teams. The photo below shows a proud moment after our Buford team won ALTA city finals. We also came in second another year. I incorporate special exercises into my own personal fitness program to improve my ability to compete on the tennis court. . .

In addition, training to stay fit helps me feel comfortable participating in other activities like volleyball and water skiing. While I don't play those competitively, it's nice to know I can enjoy a full day of volleyball at the beach, or spend several miles at the end of a tow rope behind our boat, without having to worry about not being able to climb out of bed the next day. Plus, being in shape comes in handy for those marathon shopping sessions at Buford's Mall of Georgia!

Like any woman, I'm not willing to tell you how old I am, but I will tell you that my youngest has graduated from college. I'll let you start guessing from there.

The biggest thrill for me as a personal trainer is to learn what people like you would like to accomplish with and for your body, and then help you achieve that.

  • For some, it means getting ready to fit into a sleek outfit for their high school reunion.
  • For others, it's improving quality of life issues through programs to combat osteoporosis, high blood pressure, or pre-diabetic conditions.
  • Some want to get a competitive edge in their volleyball, tennis, or other sports.
  • And for some, it's simply having the energy to do what they want to do when they want to do it and getting the most from each day.

Let me know what you'd like to result from your own personal fitness program, and I'll personalize one just for you and help you put it into action. Contact me now at 770-862-0357 and let's get your training started.
